Cumberland House Fire Ruled Accidental

A house fire in Cumberland is ruled accidental. According to Cumberland Fire Marshal Shannon Adams the house on Fort Hill Avenue was owned and occupied by Danny and Charlene Bovey. The fire broke out at around 1 Monday morning no one was injured. The blaze was caused by wires arcing in the kitchen wall igniting structural framing and insulation. Damages are estimated to be about $10,000 to the structure and $10,000 to the contents. First arriving units found fire in the kitchen wall. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes. The owners were alerted to the fire by operating smoke alarms in the house. They called 911 after discovering the fire.
