Crash That Shut Down I-68 for Almost 12 Hours Under Investigation

A crash that had I-68 shut down for almost 12 hours yesterday remains under investigation. According to Maryland State Police yesterday at about 2am the driver 59 year old Edward Damon of Jacksonville FL  was operating a 2016 Freightliner with a flatbed trailer. The vehicle traveled off of the roadway into the median and struck the guardrail, before re-entering the roadway and coming to rest. The impact caused the trailer’s load to come unsecure, depositing several barrels in the median and the roadway. The barrels contained a non-hazardous industrial powder material. Lane # 1 in both directions was closed for several hours. Cleanup was completed around 1pm. The driver refused treatment. The crash is still under investigation
