The Cumberland Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance with a hit and run investigation. On the early morning hours of June 6th, 2021, a witness reported seeing a white-in-color truck pulling a silver-in-color tanker strike an electrical pole in the area of Front Street and leave the scene heading South on Queen City Drive. Officers responded to the area and observed significant damage to the pole and sidewalk on Front Street. Officers are following up on the incident but the driver and truck have not been identified as of the time of this release. Anyone with surveillance footage of the area or who may have information that may aid in the investigation are urged to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.
