Four Correctional Officers at NBCI are recovering after suffering injuries during an assault by four inmates Friday night. According to Gerard Shields Communications Writer and Media Relations Specialist with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services the incident happened on Friday, January 29th at about 7:45 p.m. Four of the officers were taken to Western Maryland Regional Health System, where they were treated and released with minor injuries. Two officers required sutures while the other two were treated for exposure to pepper spray. All the inmates involved were apprehended and the incident was quelled quickly.
