Cause of Fire in Friendsville Ruled Accidental

The cause of a fire in Friendsville is ruled accidental. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office the blaze broke out at about 2:29am on April 11th in the outdoor porch area of a home on Nugent Lane. The fire was caused by an electrical malfunction in an outdoor refrigerator. 30 firefighters were called to the scene and had the fire under control in about 15 minutes. The fire caused about $15,000 in damage. The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
