Cause of Fire in Cumberland Ruled Accidental

The cause of a fire in Cumberland is ruled accidental. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office the blaze broke out at about at about 1:30 this afternoon at a two story duplex on E. Second Street in Cumberland. A neighbor noticed the fire which started in the living room due to smoking materials. No one was injured. 38 firefighters were on the scene and had the fire under control in about 10 minutes. The fire caused $67,000 in damage. The occupant was not home at the time of the fire.
