A Bedford County couple faces charges in connection with the death of their infant. On January 2nd, 2021 at about 3:23am Pennsylvania State Police Bedford Barrack responded to the Super 8 Motel on Business 220 in Bedford for a report of an unresponsive three month old infant. She was declared deceased at about 4:50am at UPMC Bedford. On March 29th two warrants were obtained for the parents of the infant Kailey Jo Hughes and Shawn Patrick Allison for involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment and various drug charges. Both were taken into custody in Altoona on April 1st and were arraigned in Bedford. Both are being held at the Bedford County Jail in lieu of posting $50,000 bail.
