A Springfield man is dead and his wife is hospitalized following a motorcycle crash in Mineral County. According to West Virginia State Police emergency crews were called out for a reported crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV along U.S. Route 50 at about 4:30pm on Sunday Sept 15th just west of the intersection with Patterson Creek Road. 55 year old Troy Lee Imes of Springfield was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife 49 year old Yvonne Imes sustained serious injuries and was flown via helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital. James and Lois Reed of Mt Storm were inside the SUV and were not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
