WV Governor Announces Funding for Projects Around the Region to Combat Child Abuse

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice announced he is awarding more than two million dollars in Child Advocacy Center Grant Program Funds to 22 projects across the state. Locally Burlington United Methodist Family Services will get more than 94 thousand dollars to provide intake, investigation, and follow-up services for victims of child abuse, ages 3-17 in Mineral County. Also the Children’s Home Society will get more than 100 thousand dollars for a child-focused program that encourages a multidisciplinary team approach to the investigation and treatment of child abuse, in turn strengthening and coordinating the community’s response to child abuse in Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan counties.
