No One Injured in Major Tractor Trailer Fire on I-68

No one was injured following a tractor trailer fire that snarled traffic around Cumberland yesterday afternoon. According to Cumberland Police on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at approximately 3:30 PM, the Cumberland Police Department along with the Cumberland Fire Department responded to Interstate 68 eastbound near the Rt. 220 exit for a tractor trailer fire.  Officers shut down both eastbound and westbound lanes to traffic.  The fire department was able to extinguish the fire.  Crews from the State Highway Administration responded for removal of the large amount of debris that remained after the fire.  The interstate was able to be completely reopened at approximately 1:00 AM this morning.
