​Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot is reminding those with student loan debt that the deadline to apply for relief is quickly approaching. Sept 15th is the deadline to apply for the 2019 Student Loan Debt Relief Tax Credit Application. In order to be eligible for the tax credit applicants must submit  loan information, including Maryland Income Tax forms, college transcripts, and lender documents​  and they must have incurred at least $20,000 in undergraduate and/or graduate student loan debt; and have at least $5,000 in outstanding student loan debt remaining when applying for the tax credit.​ To find out more log on to https://www.marylandtaxes.gov.
