The following is a list of cancellations and delays for Dec 16th,2020. The list will be updated as more information is received:
As a result of predicted inclement weather, there will be no meal distribution service at any ACPS school building today, Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
In the event that an Allegany County Public School student is unable to participate in synchronous learning via Schoology as a result of connectivity issues related to inclement weather, they will have the opportunity to watch the recorded video when connection issues are resolved for up to 7 days. No student will incur an unexcused absence as long as they log in to watch the recorded lessons. If your student experiences Internet issues, please just contact their school so that principals can inform classroom teachers.
Beginnings Montessori will be CLOSED Wednesday, December 16, due to the predicted winter storm.
Bishop Walsh School will be closed on Wednesday, December 16th due to inclement weather. This will NOT be an instructional day.
Calvary Christian Academy will be closed, Wednesday, December 16th. The Daycare will also be closed.
All schools in Grant County will be remote learning on Wed. Dec. 16, 2020.
All Mineral County Schools (including remote) will be closed Wednesday December 16th.
All schools in Morgan County will now be remote learning on Wed. Dec. 16, 2020, Code WS.
All Allegany College of Maryland locations will be closed Wednesday, December 16th.
Garrett College will be closed today, 12/16/2020
The following counties have liberal leave beginning at 6 am through the end of the day shift:
Garrett, Allegany, Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Baltimore and Harford. Emergency Essential Employees should report as scheduled. Non-emergency essential employees who report to the office to work may use liberal leave upon notification to the employee’s supervisor. Teleworkers should work as scheduled unless leave is granted.
Wed. Dec. 16th, there will be NO home delivered meals to the HRDC senior centers due to extreme winter weather advisories. In preparation for this inclement weather, food boxes and groceries have been delivered to our senior clients. If you have any questions please reach out to your local senior center.
The Allegany County Health Department Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Clinic at the Allegany County Fairgrounds is CANCELLED for Wednesday, December 16.
The City of Cumberland has rescheduled the COVID testing for employees of Cumberland businesses originally planned for December 16th. The new testing date is Friday, December 18th from 9 am to 11 am at Constitution Park.
The Frostburg City Sponsored COVID-19 Testing for Frostburg businesses and their employees scheduled for Wednesday, December 16 has been POSTPONED until Friday, December 18, due to forecasts of heavy snow in the area during the day on Wednesday. Testing will be at City Place, 14 S. Water Street from 1-3 pm. Please sign up no later than 4 pm on Wednesday December 16.
Thursday’s free testing at the Hampshire County fairgrounds is being cancelled. It has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 19th from 9a-3p at the fairgrounds. You can go to www.curative.com to schedule an appointment (fastest way), or you can just show up.
All COVID-19 community testing is canceled in Hardy County on Wednesday, December 16.
Allegany County Transit is not running today Wed Dec 16th and the office will be closed due to weather condition
Committed to Change will be closed 12-16-20 due to the predicted weather. Telehealth appointments will still be provided to those scheduled.
St. John Lutheran Church food drop for Wed Dec 16th has been canceled and rescheduled for Sat Dec 19th at 9am
Allegany and Garrett County District Court will be closed on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 due to the impending weather.
Allegany County Circuit Court will be closed Wednesday December 16th .
All Hampshire County Government offices will be closed Wednesday December 16th 2020
Braddock Medical Group will be closed Wednesday, December 16 due to pending weather
Dr Brian Dowling’s office will be closed on Wed and Thu of this week due to the predicted snow storm.
Dr. Poonai’s office will be closed 12-16-20 due to the predicted weather. Teladoc appointments will still be provided to those scheduled.

The Bank of Romney will be closed all day Wednesday, December 16th and will reopen Thursday, December 17th.
The Salvation Army’s Hampshire County Toy Distribution scheduled for Dec. 16 in Augusta, WV is postponed until Thu, Dec. 17, from 2- 4 pm. Those unable to come on Thu may pick up their toys at The Salvation Army 701 E. First St. in Cumberland on Fri, Dec. 18, from 2-4pm.

Testing at the Garrett County Community COVID-19 testing site at the MEDCO building at the McHenry Business Park is canceled for Thursday, December 17thdue to inclement weather and safety concerns.
